Middle Eastern Meatballs

Makes ~9 golf ball-sized meatballs (2 servings)

INGREDIENTS

  • Avocado oil

  • ~1/2 pound grass-fed ground beef

  • 1/2 yellow onion, grated

  • Garlic powder and/or onion powder

  • Smoked paprika

  • Cumin

  • Sumac

  • Turmeric

  • Fine grain sea salt

  • Black pepper

  • Finely chopped herbs such as mint, parsley, and/or dill (I did a combo of all three)

METHOD

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef with grated onion and eyeball garlic powder and/or onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, sumac, turmeric, salt (~heaping 1/2 teaspoon), pepper, and herbs. Use your hands to combine and form into small balls.

  2. Heat up a large pan and add a drizzle of avocado oil. Add the meatballs to the pan and cook until golden brown on the underside. Then, flip and cook for another 3-4 more minutes. Place the lid on the pan and cook for another few minutes or until the center reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees F. Enjoy!
