Za’atar Pita

INGREDIENTS

Pita, cut in half lengthwise

Za’atar

Sea salt

Olive oil

Flakey salt

METHOD

  1. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of za’atar, a pinch of sea salt, and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Stir well until a thin paste forms.

  2. Brush the mixture over each pita half (you might have leftover depending on the size of your pita).

  3. Heat up a pan on the stove and add a drizzle of olive oil. Place a pita half cut-side down in the pan and press down. Cook on medium heat until the underside is golden brown (2-3 minutes). Flip and cook for another couple of minutes (I added a splash of olive oil to the pan so the second side could get golden as well). Repeat with the other half of the pita.

  4. Sprinkle the pita with flakey salt. Enjoy while hot!
