Chocolate-Covered Date Hearts

INGREDIENTS

medjool dates, pulled apart enough to form a heart shape and pit removed 

melted chocolate 

nuts for stuffing (i used almond, pistachios, and hazelnut)

toppings: chopped pistachio, hazelnut, walnut, crushed freeze dried raspberries and strawberries, rose petals, cacao nibs, flakey sea salt

METHOD

  1. melt chocolate using a double boiler or microwave. if chocolate is too thick, add a bit of coconut oil.

  2. line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. stuff the core of the dates with 1-2 nuts.

  4. dip dates in chocolate and use two forks to remove excess chocolate. place on baking sheet.

  5. garnish with toppings of your choice.

  6. refrigerate until completely hardened. enjoy:)
