Fig and Burrata Crostini

CROSTINI INGREDIENTS

12 slices of good baguette, toasted to your liking

Fig jam, homemade (see below) or store-bought

Fresh figs

Burrata or goat cheese

12 basil leaves (optional)

Thick balsamic (optional)

Flakey sea salt

Freshly cracked black pepper


HOMEMADE FIG JAM INGREDIENTS

10 fresh figs

Water

Small squeeze of lemon


METHOD

Prepare fig jam. If you’re using store-bought, skip this step. Cut figs into small pieces (refer to picture below). Place into a small pot with some water and a small squeeze of lemon.

Cook on medium-high until figs become soft and jammy. Set aside and allow to cool

Assemble crostini. Spread fig jam on toast followed by burrata or goat cheese. Then place basil leave and a slice of fresh fig. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic, flakey sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper
