Balsamic-Marinated Tofu
INGREDIENTS
1 package of extra-firm tofu or high protein tofu, drained
1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Splash of coconut aminos
Calabrian chili or sriracha to taste
1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Heaping 1/2 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
Black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder or cornstarch
METHOD
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F or oven to 425 degrees F.
Wrap tofu block in paper towel and press down using your hands to release any excess moisture. Discard the paper towel and cut the tofu into cubes.
To a medium-sized bowl, add the oil, balsamic vinegar, coconut aminos, Calabrian chili/sriracha, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Whisk well. Then, add the tofu and gently toss with your hands. Then, sprinkle over the arrowroot and toss again.
Arrange the tofu on a parchment-lined baking sheet and air-fry for 15-20 minutes (depending on the strength of your air-fryer) or bake in the oven for 25-35 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy!
