Hasselback Salmon

INGREDIENTS

6 oz salmon filet with the skin on

Drizzle of olive oil

Fine grain sea salt

1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

A few dashes of smoked paprika

Black pepper to taste

Lemon

METHOD

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a small bowl, combine sesame seeds, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Mix well.

  3. Place your salmon on the parchment-lined baking sheet Slice the salmon into 1-inch thick slices to create the hasselback effect; do not cut through the skin. Be careful not to cut through the skin. Drizzle the salmon with olive oil and use your hands to rub on the exterior and between the slices. Season the salmon with salt followed by the spice mix; make sure to sprinkle the spice mix in between the slices and use your hands to rub the spices into the salmon. Roast for 10-12 minutes or until cooked to your liking. I like to broil for 2 minutes at the end. Squeeze lemon over the salmon and enjoy!
